CIPD planning its largest NI conference

6th April 2023

THE Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) is planning for its biggest ever Northern Ireland Annual Conference when the event returns to the ICC Belfast on Thursday May 18.

Themed ‘People, workplaces and results – delivering for your organisation in times of change’, speakers will address a range of topics challenging people professionals in 2023. This includes sessions on hybrid working, financial wellbeing, employment relations, prioritising self-care to avoid burnout, and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

The conference will be chaired by Susan Hayman from the CIPD in Northern Ireland. She said: “With many of us working from home for at least half of the working week, we know how keen most people are to attend events in-person and we hope to attract more than 300 delegates to Belfast for this year’s event.

“We have a first-class programme to inspire delegates, and are looking forward to getting some really practical insights that people can take back to their organisations.”

CIPD Chief Executive Peter Cheese, one of the most sought-after speakers on the world of work, will open the conference by exploring the role of the people profession in shaping the future of work and workplaces by being led by purpose and values to build more responsible organisations.

Other speakers include Stephen Frost, founder of global diversity and inclusion consultancy Included, who designed and implemented the inclusion programmes for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Laura Willis from Shine Offline who will share practical tips for improving work-life balance and wellbeing in today’s always-on digital world.

Local speakers will include Colessa Brown from Kainos, LRA Chief Executive, Don Leeson, Andrew Hoctor from NI Water, Paula Logue from Translink, workplace wellbeing expert Paul Caudwell from YuLife, Anne Forsythe from Southern Health & Social Care Trust, Aisling Quinn from NI Civil Service and Nuala Murphy from Diversity Mark.
