Recruitment day for Midwives in Craigavon

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust is currently recruiting for Band 5 and Band 6 Midwives to join its dedicated team providing safe, high quality care, every day for every women and their family.

The Trust provides essential services to around 365,000 people in the areas of Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Dungannon, South Tyrone, Newry and Mourne.

To help interested parties find out more about the roles available the Trust is hosting a recruitment day for midwives on Saturday October 19 at Maternity Outpatients, Craigavon Area Hospital from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

Successful applicants will work within a supportive environment to develop their experience and will have access to continuous professional development. The Trust provides an excellent range of development activities, chosen carefully to help staff at all levels achieve a successful and rewarding midwifery career.

Head of Midwifery & Gynaecology, Wendy Clarke said: “We offer varied and exciting roles delivering quality women-centred care across the hospital and community setting.

“We had 5,565 births across Craigavon and Daisy Hill Hospitals last year. We are delighted to be able to offer lower risk mums the option of giving birth in our Midwifery Led Units on either site and also have fully equipped Delivery Suites at both hospitals for those mothers who require more medical support.”

She added: The recruitment day is aimed at all midwives, whether you are newly qualified, due to register in 2020 or have a wealth of experience, we have roles to help you develop your career at the Southern Health & Social Care Trust.”

Candidates can apply online before the closing date of noon on Thursday October 3 and will be allocated a slot for an interview at the recruitment day.

Candidates will be able to meet and chat to current staff on the day, discuss work preferences and if successful at interview, will leave with a conditional job offer.
