Fast food group serves up 20 new jobs

18th June 2019

A Belfast pizza chain has opened a fifth outlet serving up 20 new jobs in the process.

Located on the Newtownards Road, the new Pizza Co outlet is the first in the East of the City and opens following a £150,000 investment by Belfast brothers, David and Martin Conlon, who also own and operate the popular The Chip Co chain.

Martin Conlon said: “We are delighted to open our fifth The Pizza Co which is located on the popular Newtownards Road. We’ve had a lot of requests to open in East Belfast and we’re pleased to meet that demand. It’s a great milestone for us as we now have an outlet in every part of the City.”

The Conlons opened their first outlet in 2009 and ten years later they have nine outlets across Belfast with further expansion plans in the near future. The jobs created at the new outlet are a mixture of full-time and part-time positions.

David Conlon added: “The opening of The Pizza Co Newtownards Road represents the completion of the first phase of our expansion plan which has seen the creation of 60 new jobs across three new stores in eight months.”
