Nijobfinder.co.uk Wins ‘Best Regional Job Board’ In UK

17th September 2013

THE nijobfinder website – www.nijobfinder.co.uk – has won best regional job site at the National Online Recruitment Awards (NORA).

The awards, held in London last night (November, 7) acknowledge and reward excellence in online recruitment practice from the perspective of jobseekers themselves.

Now one of the most mature online industry sectors, recruitment websites have been at the forefront of developing ever more sophisticated ways of bringing together candidates, vacancies and employers.

The NORAs are primarily concerned with the value, service and protection afforded to the general public, in catering for their needs in an ethical, professional, secure and effective manner.

There to collect the award was Independent News and Media’s classified advertising manager, Mark Reilly and recruitment team leader, Theresa Allingham.

Mark said: “We are delighted to win this award. It is testament to how user friendly our site is and how committed we are to finding job seekers the right job. Our tag line for the site is ‘works for you’ and this award brings that motto to reality.”

Stephen O’Donnell, chairman and founder of the awards said: “This is the twelfth year of the awards and this year saw over 164,000 applicants competing for the 12 awards.

“For the best regional job site the key criteria is that it is candidate friendly. The five finalists are each assessed from a candidate’s point of view, therefore they must be user friendly and designed with the candidate in mind.

“The site must have all the expected features of a job board but it should also address its region and address it well. Yes it was key that the site advertised local vacancies but also that it backed them up with information on the jobs and offered practical advice. This year more than ever it was important that the sites communicated over a variety of platforms.

That they were user friendly, made use of social media and were available on mobile devices including phones and tablets so as many candidates as possible can access them.”

Established in 2001, the annual NORA awards were created to acknowledge and reward excellence in online recruitment practice. The awards have established a standard by which recruitment websites are measured and are a focused opportunity for recognition within the UK recruitment industry. The NORAs are primarily concerned with the value and service that recruitment sites offer as well as taking into account the perspective of the job seeker.
