New recruitment venture following six figure investment

18th May 2019

A Belfast-based technology recruitment company has signed a six-figure deal to launch a new joint venture Professional Services Offering.

Hayward Hawk set up by Anthony Stuart, Richard Waterson and Stephen McDowell in 2016 and backed by businessman, global recruitment expert and star of Dragons’ Den, James Caan, CBE, has already experienced exponential growth progressing from start-up to a team of 20-strong recruiters.

The new Hayward Hawk Professional Services partnership, with businesswomen Lindsey McCracken and Gemma Murray, will extend the company’s offering from technology recruitment to professional services recruitment, covering; accountancy and finance, legal and compliance, sales and marketing and human resources (HR).

Belfast is firmly established and recognised as a hub for financial services technology investment, with more and more multinational companies setting up business in the city. Alongside the global players, high-quality talent and low labour attrition rates have allowed brands to quickly flourish, resulting in a diverse and active professional services market in the city and surrounding areas. This prompted Hayward Hawk’s decision to grow their offering to help these industries find the best talent available.

Director, Stephen McDowell said: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Lindsey and Gemma, two of the best recruiters in Ireland, to the growing Hayward Hawk brand and launch of Hayward Hawk’s Professional Services.

“I worked with both Lindsey and Gemma back in 2011 and was immediately struck by their professionalism, knowledge of the industry and network of contacts.

“We kept in touch and when the opportunity presented itself to invest in these two highly accomplished businesswomen it was an easy decision”

Chairman James Caan added: “In my recent trip to Belfast, I had the pleasure of meeting the latest members of the team, along with the new joint venture.

“What struck me most was how rapidly the company has grown since starting out only three years ago.

“One of the key aspects to continued growth and success of any business is bringing in the right people”

He concluded: “It’s evident both with the existing team and with the addition of the new enterprise, they have achieved this in abundance.”
