Green light for jobs at Fermanagh traffic control firm

14th April 2015

Co Fermanagh fins Emco Group is investing £250,000 and creating new jobs in a bid to boost exports of its traffic management products.

The Derrylin-based business is hoping to increase its sales into the Republic – creating three new posts.

Seamus Owens, director of Emco Group said: ‘We diversified into the traffic management products market in 2009 and have seen sales in this sector increase sharply during the past two years due to significant investment in the services infrastructure in the Republic of Ireland.’

Emco Group was set up a decade ago to provide project management and consultancy services to the manufacturing and construction sectors.

Invest NI has put forward £25,000 towards the expansion.

‘Invest NI’s support will enable us to recruit the three additional workers we need at a rate to accept milers for our new product range; Mr Owens said.

‘In the longer tens, our enhanced workforce will also afford as greater opportunity to focus on developing the product range and business further.’

Patricia Devine, of Invest NI, said: ‘Emco Group has evolved in recent years and adapted its business strategy to follow the market conditions imposed upon it through the recession.

The manufacture and distribution of road signage is a niche area which has significant growth potential.’
