Employment Briefs – Local Firm Expands

16th March 2015

Portadown-based Dawson Manufacturing & Engineering is expanding its premises by 40%, investing in new laser cutting machinery, and employing six new people with the help of finance from Ulster Bank.

The company, which currently employs more than 30 people, is one of Northern Ireland’s leading manufacturers of bespoke stainless steel products. Its clients include food sector and catering firms, health trusts, and the pharmaceutical sector.

Founded eight years ago by brothers Colin and Ian Dawson, the business moved to its current 14,000 square foot facility in 2009 and has experienced steady growth since.

Colin Dawson: “The enlarged premises and workforce will enable us to continue to increase our client-base and to bring laser-cutting in-house, therefore allowing us to further improve efficiency and to reduce lead-times.”
