The Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster is Northern Ireland’s largest youth organisation representing young people who live in or have access to rural areas.

We are a well-established, growing, relevant and vibrant organisation, with a membership of over 3,500 young people (aged 12-30) across our 51 clubs throughout 6 counties. Providing vital services, fun activities and unique opportunities to members, we also ensure that membership views are represented professionally – all to meet our mission of “encouraging individual development, creativity, initiative and contribution for the benefit of the member, the Charity, Industry and the Community.”

We can offer an excellent chance to join and lead our team as Chief Executive Officer. This permanent, full-time position provides an opportunity to take on a prominent role in a well-funded organisation with a committed team and clear strategic vision.

The Benefits

- Salary of £49,000 - £65,000 per annum (negotiable)
- 25 days’ annual leave, plus 12 bank holidays

The Role

As our Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Board, you'll be responsible for crafting and executing our strategic vision, driving our continued success.

Supervising the implementation of our programmes, activities and initiatives, you will ensure their successful delivery within set budgets and timelines.

In addition to overseeing our day-to-day operations, you'll focus on fostering a culture of excellence amongst our staff and maintaining and enhancing governance standards.

You'll also take the lead in financial oversight, ensuring excellent budget management and transparent reporting as well as seeking avenues for sponsorship and funding to enhance the value of membership benefits.

Furthermore, you'll actively engage with various stakeholders and team members to shape decisions and policies in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.

About You

To be considered as a Chief Executive Officer, you will need:

- Experience as part of a senior management and/or leadership role which entailed significant Board reporting
- Experience of the direct line management for at least four people
- Experience of effective strategic planning and liaising with key stakeholders
- Experience of increasing sustainable funding and strong budgetary management skills
- Experience of working with and communicating with young people
- An understanding of the rural environment and young population issues
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Previous experience in an employed leadership role in a membership organisation would be beneficial to your application, as would employed experience of working for a not-for-profit organisation and with volunteers.
