H&J Martin was founded in 1840 by Henry Martin who was later joined by his son, John, in 1879 in the family business when they became collectively known as H&J Martin. The father and son team and their descendants for over 180 years now have been responsible for some of the UK & Irelands most iconic buildings. In 2015, H&J Martin was acquired by Lagan Specialist Contracting Group and at present operates three divisions, Asset Management Services, Fit Out and Construction.

H&J Martin Asset Management Services delivers minor works, planned and reactive maintenance and facilities management services throughout the UK and Ireland. We support organisations and businesses, across the private and public sectors, with maximum efficiency, safety and comfort. Our extensive client list means we can implement best practice techniques and use latest technology to manage critical environments. We have a well proven approach to facilities management utilising effective Helpdesk operations, innovative use of leading edge IT, mobile working and document management systems, which keep us at the forefront of our competitors. We utilise directly employed staff and have the ability to self-perform a wide range of specialist disciplines. We operate in various markets, with a strong focus on building, mechanical and electrical services, as well as self-delivery of specialist activities such as fire & security systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, door & gate automation, telecommunications and renewables.

H&J Martin Fit Out deliver projects across the UK and Ireland for clients in the Retail, Commercial, Hospitality & Leisure, Education, Residential and Restoration sectors.  Our unified belief is the desire for effective partnership, developing a collaborative approach and successful project delivery all in order to build long-term relationships.

H&J Martin Construction have been providing high quality construction services since we were founded in Belfast, in 1840. Over the years, we have built up a considerable portfolio of successful projects, including many buildings which are instantly recognisable such as Belfast’s iconic City Hall, Grand Opera House, the Slieve Donard Resort, Co. Down as well as Dublin’s Arnott’s department store. Today, we operate throughout the UK and Ireland and offer a comprehensive range of services focusing on the delivery of high quality and innovative build solutions for our clients.
