Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, to recruit a Technical Officer (Private Sector Grants) on an ongoing temporary contract basis to work from their offices in Derry/Londonderry.

Your new role
You will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of technical aspects related to housing projects. This position involves collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure that housing construction and maintenance works adhere to industry standards and regulations.
Your role will include:Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.Implement quality control measures and resolve construction issues.Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation for housing projects.Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with housing projects.Collaborate with architects, engineers, government authorities, and other stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following essential criteria:
Possess a degree level qualification in Building Studies or equivalent professional/technical qualification, and have at least 2 years of relevant experience in Building Construction / Surveying, or;
Possess a relevant BTEC Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Building Studies, plus 3 years relevant experience in Building Construction / Surveying, or;
Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development / experiential learning and at least 4 years working within a Building Construction / Surveying environment.
You should also be able to demonstrate experience in at least 3 of the following 4 areas:
Relevant experience in carrying out inspections of domestic properties to identify defects and recommend solutions with associated costs.Experience of preparing basic plans/drawings following on-site surveys.Experience of inspecting completed works to ensure it meets satisfactory quality standards compliant with current statutory requirements (e.g. Building Control etc.).Experience of using I.T. systems / mobile devices to carry out all technical duties and communication.

This position offers an immediate start with the opportunity to work with Northern Ireland's largest social landlord on an ongoing temporary contract basis. You will be paid via Hays on a weekly basis.
