Vanrath are delighted to be supporting our leading public sector client in their search for an M&E Supervisor

Job Description

The role entails leading and supervising an M&E maintenance team, managing resources effectively, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders. This includes resolving issues promptly, building relationships at all levels, and promoting the organization's profile.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor title and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise M&E staff and contractors, ensuring quality and policy adherence.
  • Plan and organize M&E maintenance tasks, including surveys and compliance.
  • Perform M&E maintenance tasks, attend meetings, and provide technical advice.
  • Prepare costings for M&E projects, ensuring value for money.
  • Source materials and equipment, overseeing their use according to policies.
  • Ensure health and safety during M&E works.
  • Assist colleagues with building maintenance tasks.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as timesheets and purchase orders.
  • Maintain documentation for risk assessments and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
  • Lead and motivate the team, collaborating with the wider Estates team.
  • Liaise with other departments and relevant bodies.
  • Manage M&E activities for special events.
  • Produce reports for the Building Maintenance Team Manager.
  • Attend meetings and liaise with various stakeholders for effective service delivery.
  • Communicate with external organizations and stakeholders.

Essential Criteria

  • BS 7671 18th edition qualification 2382, City & Guilds or equivalent, with one of the following
  • NVQ level 3 craft qualification C&G 2357 installing electro-technical systems

OR

  • C&G 2356 level 3 in electrical installation

OR

  • C&G 236 electrical installation parts 1&2 or A&B

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ post apprentice/time served as an electrician within the Building Maintenance or Construction industry and working strictly to recognised regulations.
  • Two years’ experience to include each of the following:-
  • providing technical support and assistance to other maintenance trades namely plumbing;
  • supervising and motivating staff teams; and
  • cost estimating, ordering materials and equipment.
