Commodity Manager

Our client is a well established manufacturing company based just north of Dublin who are currently on the market for an Commodity Manager.

The successful Commodity Manager will be responsible for a defined direct material field, including the pooling and procurement of commodities, developing and implementing commodity strategies, interacting with suppliers and cross-functions to ensure the resilience & sustainability of the company supply chain.

Responsibilities:

• You will drive the advancement of the supplier base to support growing demand at our manufacturing site.
• Perform end to end supplier risk management to ensure delivery, quality and cost targets are achieved today and, in the future.
• Act as focal point between sourcing, manufacturing operations, quality & engineering and lead cross-functional projects.
• On an ongoing basis, you will interact with commodity management and align on demand pooling, price negotiations and global commodity strategy.

Criteria:

• Degree in related discipline (QQI level 8) with a minimum of 5 years experience in related field
• Willing to travel up to 20%
• Analytical and structured in your problem-solving approach.
• Strong negotiation skills
• A proven ability to drive assignments to full implementation in collaboration with cross-functional partners
• Experienced in supplier capacity, process, and capability assessment and able to identify improvement potentials.
• A good communicator and team player with the drive to implement changes.

Salary is in the region of €80 – 90k with a benefits package including bonus scheme, healthcare, pension.
