Head of People and Organisational Development (Ref: HOP01/24)

NIAO has a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join the team in a progressive public sector organisation as Head of People and Organisational Development (37 hours per week). This critical role provides a great opportunity to help shape the future of our organisation and be at the heart of implementing a People Strategy and a Learning, Development and Talent Management Strategy.

The role offers a salary of £65,512 to £73,001 per annum and a range of attractive benefits including hybrid working, generous annual leave entitlement, generous pension package, flexible working, free car parking and an on-site gym.

The Head of People and Organisational Development will work alongside the Senior Leadership Team and will have responsibility for implementing a People Strategy and a Learning, Development and Talent Management Strategy that ensures we achieve our strategic objectives through the creation of a professional learning culture, where innovation and high performance are the hall marks of how we work. You will focus on how we develop our talent, create opportunities, ensure high levels of engagement and retention, in an environment that values equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.

Essential Criteria:

1. A minimum of 5 years’ relevant People and OD experience at management level or above.

2. Proven experience of developing and embedding people?focused strategies to deliver business objectives.

3. Experience of supporting organisations, senior managers and teams through transformational change.

4. Experience of creating or enabling development programmes that support capability development in high performing leaders, employees and teams.

5. Proven experience of leading a successful People team in a people and service focused organisation.

6. Strong knowledge of current trends and good practice within People and Culture.
