CNC setter/operator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CNC setter/operator within an dynamic & growing industry.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Responsible for the setting and operating 3 &5 axis CNC milling machines

• Work autonomously and under your own initiative
• Where required, programme machines in line with technical information provided.
• Set up the tooling required to produce parts.
• Carry out first offs to ensure parts meet quality and technical requirements specified.
• Run product batches to technical requirements to a high standard.
• Check dimensions prior to passing for Inspection.

• Work to company and industry standards

• Comply with quality and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements.
• You would also be responsible for your own work area and help as a team to maintain the whole CNC department, by keeping it clear of rubbish, spills wiped, clean and tidy.

CNC Setter/Operator

• Skilled CNC Operator / Setter Miller with a minimum of 5 years previous experience

• Proven experience setting and operating CNC Mills - Heidenhain controls
• A relevant qualification
• Excellent level of verbal communication, strong organisational skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances.
• Confident to make quick decisions
• Have an ability to work to short time scales and effectively self-time manage.
• Excellent knowledge of metalworking - especially aluminium.
• Short run production experience
• Knowledge of hypermill and the ability to edit programs would be a distinct advantage but not essential
