Maintenance Technician

We are working with one of NI’s local success stories within the food manufacturing industry in their recruitment for a maintenance technician. Based at their site in Newtownards the Maintenance Technician will support planned maintenance activities to ensure the upkeep of buildings, landscapes, factory and offices in line with the operational activities of the business.  

The Role:

• The primary focus is on ensuring the maximum up time on machinery whilst ensuring the machinery runs consistently to the highest tolerances and minimum waste.   
• Involvement in all projects concerning buildings and site infrastructure.
• Repair production equipment to current Company standards to optimize performance of production machinery and ancillary equipment.
• Plan for and assist with the installation of new or relocated machinery / equipment.
• Ensure Equipment is properly set up and maintained, monitoring performance and carrying out fault diagnosis and running adjustments/repairs as required.

Personal Specification

• To have completed an approved apprenticeship with the relevant Level 3 Mechanical / Electrical Qualification or an engineering qualification. 
• At least five years post apprenticeship experience in a mechanical and/or electrical hands-on maintenance and/or engineering role
• Experience in problem-solving and rectification on a variety of equipment/machinery
• Experience and understanding of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience of fault-finding using wiring diagrams
