What you will do:

  • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with regulations, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop audit plans, including risk assessments, audit objectives, and testing procedures, to address key areas of concern.
  • Execute audit procedures, including gathering and analysing data, evaluating evidence, and documenting findings in accordance with professional standards.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management, providing practical insights and actionable solutions to address identified issues.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to implement corrective actions and process improvements based on audit findings.
  • Monitor and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices in internal auditing, applying this knowledge to enhance audit processes and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and growth within the practice.
  • What you will have:

  • Chartered Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification preferred, and equivalent professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) with relevant audit experience.
  • Significant experience working in internal audit, preferably within a professional services or accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong understanding of internal control concepts, risk assessment methodologies, and audit techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate evidence, and develop practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office suite.
