Quantity Surveyor (Global Consultancy)

Hays are working with a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy, operating across Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management. This organisation has recently opened a new office in Northern Ireland and are actively seeking to strengthen their Quantity Surveying team in Belfast. Focussing on sectors such as Commercial, Residential, Education, Sports, Government & Retail and due to the ongoing expansion of their team and workload, a position for an experienced Quantity Surveyor has become available.

Your new role
This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive candidate to take responsibility for providing all core Quantity Surveying services on a number of interesting projects, for a number of clients across a variety of sectors. Your duties will be inclusive of but not limited to.

• To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
• To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
• Comply with established commercial/procurement/ contractual strategies
• Preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisals
• Preparation of elemental cost plans
• Provide advice and view in respect of our client development plans and expectations
• Providing advice on procurement strategy
• Preparing and issuing tender documents.
• Managing and contributing to structured and documented tender evaluations
• Preparation of Contract Recommendation Reports
• Scrutinising and verifying applications for interim payments
• Managing change control in accordance with contracts
• Promote commercial awareness throughout project

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results. The following criteria are also required.

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• Strong technical delivery experience
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body preferred
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• Strong Feasibility and cost planning experience
• Pre and Post contract experience of a range of schemes
• Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
• Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts
• A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
