Vanrath are delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a Procurement Officer for a large and expanding manufacturing company within the Ballymena area on a temp to perm basis.

About your next employer

You will be joining the expanding procurement team. The purpose of the role is resource suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to source goods and services as efficiently as possible, to support the needs of the overall business.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise sourcing and supplier selection
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement within the procurement
  • Liasing with other departments e.g., production, operations, and finance to align procurement activities with business needs
  • Procure goods, materials, and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery
  • Work with the Head of Procurement in managing supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards, to enable
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business
  • Extending supplier networking by building, maintaining, and managing supplier
  • Provide analysis / reports on costs for both new and existing
  • Compile data relating supplier performance and
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate stock levels wile minimising carrying
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes, including communication and negotiation of resolution to any supply problems, which may impact the business.

About you

Essential:

  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, or a supply chain role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the procurement
  • Willingness to be flexible to suit business
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with ability to prioritise a busy work schedule

Desirable:

  • Driven individual with experience working in procurement function.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes with strong attention to
  • Experience working within manufacturing
  • Product knowledge of precast concrete
  • Experience in meeting KPIs and
  • Full driving
