Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Information Governance Advisor - Belfast

Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: £14.91 per hour
  • Location: Belfast
  • Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
  • Holidays: 36 days pro rata
  • Duration: Temporary, ongoing

Duties include, not limited to:

  • To assist in the effective management of corporate records (electronic and paper) from their creation through to their eventual disposal in line with relevant Public Records legislation and best practice.
  • To assist in ensuring the preservation of the organisation’s corporate memory and heritage, including liaison with the Public Records Office NI on transfer of appropriate records.
  • To assist in the provision of advice on legal and regulatory issues, in areas linked to Records Management, as may be required, such as the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts, UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other relevant legislation in consultation with other Information Governance staff.
  • To assist in the management and administration of the records system.
  • To participate in the Corporate Records Management Project team.
  • To work with the nominated Divisional Representatives, under the direction and supervision of the Records Manager, in ensuring organisational adherence to Records Management policy.
  • To assist in providing advice and guidance on Information Governance enquiries, as required.

Criteria:

  • Possess a Degree level qualification.
  • Have at least 1 years’ experience in an information governance or IT role which includes records management or project management.
  • Can demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of best practice concerning records management.
  • Can demonstrate significant experience in 2 of the following 3 areas:

- Assisting in the administration of an Electronic Document and Records Management system.

- Assisting in the provision of advice / guidance relating to Records Management, or development of Records Management policy advice OR guidance OR policy development.

- Working in a project environment and meeting challenging project timescales.

  • Desirable: Membership of the Information & Records Management Society (IRMS).
  • Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full
  • As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
