Northern Ireland Tourist Board

15th January 2015

Northern Ireland Tourist Board is responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Northern Ireland as a tourist destination within the Island of Ireland. As an organisation NITB plays a key role in the economic development of Northern Ireland as a region and is striving to create a £1 billion industry, attracting 4.5 million visitors and adding an additional 10,000 jobs to our economy by 2020.

Much has been achieved in recent years with the investment of over £30 million in support of major events such as the Irish Open and the Giro, alongside investment in infrastructure of over £300 million in projects such as Titanic Belfast and the Giants Causeway Visitor Facility which has added considerably to the tourism momentum. While we can reflect on the achievements of the past we look to our future and given our capability and our aspirations, there is still much to do. The role of Chief Executive is therefore one of the most important appointments in Northern Ireland.

The role demands a strategic leader who can demonstrate the vision, experience, credibility and enthusiasm to develop and support the ongoing transformation of Northern Ireland tourism. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and oversee the delivery of high quality services in line with international best practice to continue to build on the platform that has already been established.
