Assistant Chief Fire & Rescue Officer

NIFRS wish to invite applications for the role of Assistant Chief Fire & Rescue Officer. We are initially recruiting two posts which will focus on the areas of Operations and Community Protection.

The Assistant Chief Fire & Rescue Officers will support the Chief Fire & Rescue Officer (CFRO) as a member of the NIFRS Corporate Management Team to deliver against a demanding change agenda in a challenging financial climate.

Making a difference to people's lives, protecting them and keeping them safe is the focus of what we do. These posts will be critical in supporting the CFRO to ensure NIFRS is a fire and rescue service fit for the future while ensuring the delivery of NIFRS strategic objectives and compliance with the Service's responsibilities as detailed in legislation.

The successful candidates will be senior and experienced professionals in the Fire and Rescue Sector who have experience of managing critical operational incidents.
They will be innovative and resilient leaders and role models of the values of the Fire and Rescue Service. They will have delivered demonstrable and sustainable change and improvement to service delivery. They will also be able to demonstrate that they have ensured effective governance and financial management while creating and maintaining a culture of high performance.

The post will be based at NIFRS Headquarters, Lisburn. The salary is currently £88,989 per annum.
