Director of City and Organisational Strategy

(circa £97k)

The Belfast Agenda is Belfast's first community plan. It is a forward-thinking and inclusive vision for the future with a set of ambitious goals that will build prosperity and create a better quality of life for all in the City. The delivery of this hugely ambitious plan requires innovation, cohesion and operational focus. To achieve this, we are creating a Strategic Hub, central to our operating structure, which will enable the whole organisation to work more effectively.

This senior appointment is integral to the effectiveness of the Strategic Hub and the successful delivery of the Belfast Agenda.

Director of City and Organisational Strategy

Ref: 17035

This is a unique opportunity to perform a key leadership role ensuring that the Council and its partners have the tools, infrastructure and capacity to deliver the tangible outcomes in this 20 year strategy. As leader of the Strategic Hub, this post will support the Chief Executive and the wider management team to deliver the strategy through the creation of actionable plans and mobilising the organisation and partners behind these.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will ensure that the organisation is best set up, supported and led to deliver on these priorities.

The teams within the hub will support you to deliver evidenced based policy and strategy, citywide outcome performance, partnership effectiveness and organisational improvement and innovation. You will also be responsible for enhancing the reputation and profile of the Council and City through the communications and marketing function.

The role requires someone who has a focus on turning strategy into delivery across a multifunctional organisation and alongside partners. You will need to have a passion for embracing new initiatives and bringing other people with you, engaging across the organisation and beyond to make the strategy happen.
