Our international presence is marked by an extensive network of distributors worldwide. We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager based in our Head Office in Craigavon.

Project Manager – Reference: PM/0617

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager with AJ Power limited. This is a position managing projects producing and delivering power generation equipment; to OEM distributor companies and in turn key applications, directly to the end user. You will work with a multi discipline team to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget. The Project Manager will provide support to the sales/marketing, engineering, production and finance departments. Operating as the primary point of contact between AJ Power and the customer. The role will involve local and international travel. This role provides opportunities for long-term career progression and development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Take projects from point of sale to hand over;
  • Advise production department of build requirements;
  • Manage data flow to and from engineering and customers and provide support;
  • Compile project files for engineers containing pertinent information;
  • Chair and take minutes on project meetings;
  • Host Factory Acceptance Tests;
  • Compile Risk Assessments and method statements for site works;
  • Manage customer complaints and warranty issues;
  • Identify potential sources of technical problems and develop and implement effective solutions;
  • Compile procedures and acceptable criteria for acceptance tests;
  • Liaise with purchasing and production, including minor stock control and use of MRP;
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors;
  • Manage multiple complex projects at one time ensuring team members are provided with task definitions, information and tools to perform the allocated tasks;
  • Financial control of project spending and liaise with the accounts department on payment milestones, invoicing, extras and disputes;
  • Create project plans with MS Project or similar;
  • Check for compliance with relevant industry standards, legislation and associated regulations;
  • Read, understand and clarify technical documentation;
  • Attend site meeting with customers, providing technical support and guidance to customers;
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues;
  • Travel locally and internationally;
  • Be prepared to work outside normal hours if necessary.

Essential Criteria

  • 2:1 Hons Degree in Engineering or Science related subject;
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical information;
  • Motivated individual with a positive attitude and professional integrity;
  • Willing to travel locally and internationally.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Project Management;
  • Experience in diesel power generation;
  • Member of an accredited engineering institute;
  • A recognised project management qualification.
