Youth Worker

Area One – Belfast and South - Belfast, Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Newry, Mourne and Down, Ards and North Down, and Antrim and Newtownabbey. All areas are flexible and subject to change.

Reporting to: Relevant Programme Manager/Specialist Youth Worker.

Responsibilities: Enabling Bytes to successfully deliver projects that promote the personal, educational, creative, and social development of young people, using creative ICT, assisting them reach their full potential. This will be in line with the NI Youth Work Curriculum.

Job location: Primarily at our Belfast Office with opportunity to work from our other offices. We anticipate relocating from our Belfast office to the Newtownabbey area by September 2022. Bytes has a hybrid working policy.

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week. The applicant will be flexible in their working hours to meet the needs of the organisation; this will require availability between the hours of 9am – 11pm Monday – Sunday.

Salary: £20,865 - £23,580 (JNC 9-12) pro rata to 21hrs (point 9 starts at £12,276, Point on scale negotiated based upon experience)

Contract length: 31 March 2023 (with possibility of extension or reduction depending on availability of funds)

Holidays: Full-time total annual entitlement is 37 days, which includes bank/customary days. Holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees or those working less than full-time hours per week. Please note that this will be pro rata for a part time post.
