Specialist Youth Worker

Area Three – North West – covering Derry and Strabane, Mid-Ulster, Fermanagh and Omagh and Causeway Coast and Glens.

Reporting to : Programme Manager

Responsibilities: Enabling Bytes to successfully deliver projects that promote the personal, educational, creative, and social development of young people, using creative ICT, assisting them reach their full potential. This will be in line with the NI Youth Work Curriculum.

Supporting the Programme Manager to successfully deliver projects that support us to achieve our strategic and operational objectives.

Job location: Primarily at our Derry/Londonderry Office with opportunity to work from our other offices. We are based at Strand Road Foyer on Bayview Terrace.

Bytes has a hybrid working policy.

Hours: 37.5hrs per week. The applicant will be flexible in their working hours to meet the needs of the organisation; this will require availability between the hours of 9am – 11pm Monday – Sunday.

Salary: £24,636 - £27,252 (JNC 13-16). Starting point negotiable based on experience.

Contract length: 31 March 2023 (with possibility of extension or reduction depending on availability of funds)

Holidays: Full-time total annual entitlement is 37 days, which includes set bank/customary days. Holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time employees or those working less than full-time hours per week.

1. Managing and Developing a Range of High-Quality Youth Work Programmes with Bytes and Member Groups

2. Developing Staff and Volunteers Across Bytes and Member Groups

3. Working with Agencies to Develop Services for Bytes and Member Groups

4. Leading Project Development and Implementation Across Bytes and Member Groups

5. Team Management Responsibility for Staff
