A261 Customer Arrears Officer

Salary: SCP 26-28, currently £30,451 - £32,234 gross per annum (pro-rata)

Hours: 37 per week, Permanent

Closing date: Monday 24th January 2022 at 12.00 noon

Established in 1978 and working with our partners in government, we have transformed affordable housing across Northern Ireland. Our vision is to use our expertise in affordable home ownership solutions to provide as many eligible households as we can with an opportunity to own their own home. Our mission is to build on the 30,000 affordable homes we have already provided through Co-Ownership and develop new and innovative products in response to the changing demands within the market as a result of economic changes.

We wish to appoint a Customer Arrears Officer who will work with our customers and key stakeholders to deliver a responsive arrears service. They will be a motivated team player who has a passion for excellent customer service and problem solving.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) to include Maths and English (at grades A -C) PLUS a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a role dealing with arrears/debt management whilst supporting vulnerable customers OR a minimum of 4 years’ experience without qualifications.
  • Previous experience of negotiating with and gaining buy in from customers.
  • Previous experience of working with solicitors and legal representatives.
  • Working knowledge of small claims court and enforcement of judgement hearings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build immediate rapport with stakeholders.
