Clinical Laboratory Analyst – Science Park, Antrim (20N/LASP)
We require a highly motivated and enthusiastic Laboratory Analyst to join an innovative international company in a growing industry that can provide career security and genuine advancement opportunities for those who show potential.
This position will be based within our Laboratory in Randox Science Park, Antrim.
Job Duties:
• Routine use of the RCLS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs).
• Performance of various analytical procedures including various manual screening and automated methods covering a wide variety of clinical diagnostic tests
• Preparation and handling of samples and diagnostic reagents
• operation of various automated analytical systems including but not limited to Rx Imola, Siemens Immulite XPi, Advia Centaur XPT, Roche Urisys, Sysmex Xs-1000i, Evidence Investigator, Evidence, ELISA and Erythrocye Sedimentation Rate (ESR) Instruments
• Accurate maintenance of analytical records
• Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process.
• Routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
• Adherence to company Positive work Environment Policies, health & safety procedures, and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Individual must be flexible in working hours if required
The successful applicants must meet the following criteria:
Essential Skills:
• A BSc in Biomedical Science and Diploma in Professional Practice (2:1 or above). Alternatively, qualified to at least degree standard in Biochemistry or Biological Sciences only
• Extensive professional experience (excluding experience gained during education) in clinical diagnostic testing and reagent applications
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent organisational skills
• Computer literate
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work as a team member of a cross-functional team to accomplish time-driven goals.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
• Experience in Quality Managements Systems i.e. ISO9001/ISO17025/ISO15189
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety including CoSHH
• Strong troubleshooting skills
