Victim Support NI is a voluntary organisation which helps people affected by crime. It provides a free and confidential service and each year, Victim Support NI offers help to over 55,000 people who have been affected by crime.
The organisation offers practical and emotional support through its Community Service for those trying to deal with being a victim of crime. The Witness Service takes witnesses, victims and their families through the court procedure when involved in a criminal trial.
Court Observers Panel
Victim Support NI is seeking to appoint a Panel of up to 15 members of the public who have no previous experience of the criminal justice system or its agencies, either as workers or volunteers. The purpose of the panel is to observe trials for rape and serious sexual violence and to provide feedback to inform the organisation as it develops policy and good practic models in conjunction with the Criminal Justice System.
This is a voluntary role. Expenses will be paid and training provided to enable Panel members to understand the process and what is required of them.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 5th February 2019 no later than 12:00noon.
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 12th February 2019.
