Rathmore Grammar School, a Catholic, co-educational, voluntary grammar school, was founded in 1953 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary who continue to be the school Trustees. It is situated in its own extensive landscaped grounds at Dunmurry in the southern suburbs of Belfast and enjoys excellent facilities. The school inherits the rich tradition of a Congregation engaged in education since its foundation in 1849 and shares its motto, “Ut vitam Habeant” (That they may have Life), seeking to enrich through education the life of the people in its care and encourage them in turn to bring life to others. With its highly qualified and caring staff it promotes academic excellence among pupils, in keeping with their individual aptitudes, and prepares them for their future role in society.
