Spirit AeroSystem is looking for a well-established and motivated Infrastructure Team Lead to join their Belfast based IT team, with responsibility for NI and international based sites. Principal accountabilities:
- Responsible for execution of the IT infrastructure strategy for Belfast and Non-US based sites
- Manage the ongoing support and renewal of all IT Infrastructure assets at the Belfast site, including problem resolution, 3rd party contracts, sourcing, continuous improvement and
- budget control
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of relevant reporting and monitoring of performance, outages, usage and costs, for the Belfast IT Infrastructure and Non-US based sites.
- Participate in new business projects where appropriate with requirements capture, costing estimates/proposals and implementation planning/delivery.
Acting as the project focal through the IT Investment review process. - Generation of Best Practice and Methodology documents to support the deployment of the new systems and processes, in alignment with corporate standards
- Participation in the development of the Corporate I.T. infrastructure strategic plan for sites
- Provide a technical Interface between the customer and any relevant 3rd parties during implementation / integration of new and existing IT infrastructure solutions, including establishing and maintaining metrics to ensure proactive monitoring of trends and Service Line Agreements
- Manage Belfast IT Infrastructure spend in line with assigned budgets. Identify and execute cost saving initiatives where appropriate
- Ensure personal and team’s technical knowledge and expertise in relevant technologies is kept up to date, thus enabling the infrastructure team to provide meaningful input to issue resolution and to new projects
Represents the non-US locations on global Spirit IT Infrastructure forum
Candidate Requirements:
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that sufficient detail is provided on the application form to demonstrate how the applicant meets essential job criteria, as this alone will be used for vetting purposes.
- Extensive experience of IT infrastructure support and development environment, with minimum of 10 years practical experience in IT and 4 years in technical team management role.
- Hold a degree level qualification in a relevant subject eg Computer Science, Applied Computing, Networking (IT) etc. OR equivalent practical experience.
- Strong general business awareness and understanding of how the application of technology impacts the business ability to meet their targets
- Ability to operate effectively with a wide cross section of personnel from differing backgrounds, functional disciplines, nationality, culture and technical
- Must have strong inter-personal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the
- Strong IT generalist knowledge across multiple systems and areas of Infrastructure and Application Support – WinTel, Linux ,etc.
