Health & Safety Officer (Fixed-term for 12 months)
Role Description
The role involves supporting the development and implementation of best practice health and safety arrangements across Northern Ireland Water, ensuring full compliance with current health and safety legislation, including Acts, Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and other statutory compliance guidance and standards.
This position requires providing clear, strategic leadership to foster the ongoing development of a safe environment for colleagues, contractors, visitors, and the public.
The role also includes promoting and enabling a best practice culture in health and safety and collaborating with functional managers to establish and maintain a program of continual improvement in health and safety management within their areas of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
1. Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
2. Have a minimum of one years’ demonstrable experience in a health & safety role, including inspection and auditing experience across a range of disciplines and work activities.
3. As this post requires you to travel on official duty throughout Northern Ireland, you must have a full, current driving license or access to a reliable means of transport, which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. This is an operational requirement and is essential to meet business needs.
Salary
This role offers a competitive remuneration package with a salary scale of £28,441 to £34,761 per annum (pay award pending).
Duration
Fixed term for 12 months (Maternity Cover)
Location
The role will be based at Westland House, 40 Old Westland Road, Belfast, BT14 6TE.
