Honeycomb is assisting a public sector client with a Duty Manager post, Leisure. 6 months+ contract, excellent package. Portaferry, Co.Down
The Client - This large organisation operates with a vast range of services. With a Directorate focus on Leisure; Community & Well-being, this client currently has an opening across one of the sites throughout the Portaferry catchment area. Excellent package re' competitive rota structure (28 hours per week, 4 days on 3 days off); time & a half and double time rates applicable.
The Role - Reporting to the Directorate Operations Manager, duties will include but not be limited to the following:
The post holder will be called on to deputise for the Operations Manager as and when required. The post holder will also be expected to keep the lines of communication flowing between the centres and Leisure Services Manager and Head of Service in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Assist with all aspects of the management of all facilities within the Leisure group ensuring their development and maximum utilisation.
Be responsible for all timely and accurate reporting from the centre to include all financial reports, accident and incident reports, customer comments and complaints, absence records and any other reports the operations manager or other authorised officer of the council may request.
Work in liaison with the Marketing Officer – Across Leisure and also the Corporate Communications Directorate.
Oversee day to day management of centre staff including the development of schedules of work for staff, selection and recruitment, monitoring absence levels, control and allocation of annual leave, disciplinary/grievance matters, ensuring adequate and safe staffing levels are in place.
Assist in the development and implementation of staff training programmes and ensuring that training records are kept up to date.
Carry out reception duties and deal with customer comments and complaints as required.
- Educated to HND / HNC level in a leisure or sports-based discipline or equivalent qualification
OR Four years’ relevant experience in a similar health and fitness environment (If the above qualification or equivalent is not held, applicants must demonstrate four years’ experience)
- Three years’ experience in a leisure centre or similar health and fitness environment
- Demonstrable experience of working within agreed revenue budgets
- A demonstrable track record in achieving sales targets and running member retention programmes
- Demonstrable experience in the supervision and management of a multi-disciplinary team
