A vacancy has arisen for the post of Communications Support Officer with the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Northern Ireland (RFCA NI). This is a full-time post based at our Head Office in Belfast though there would be the opportunity for hybrid working, with a maximum of 2 days working from home.

The successful candidate will provide public relations, media and communications support to RFCA NI and will report to the Head of Communications.

The successful applicant will have 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C (including maths and English) and will ideally have experience in running successful social media campaigns through multiple channels, website administration and general office administration. A high proficiency in Microsoft packages (including Excel and Outlook) is required and the successful applicant will have demonstrable communication and organisational skills.

The salary for the appointment at commencement is £21,169 (Crown Servant Grade E1 full-time post). The post holder will be required to work a 37 hour week (excluding lunchbreaks). Normal working days are Monday to Friday but occasional evening and weekend work will be required. The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA Pension Scheme which operates a Career Average Revalued Earnings Scheme (CARE).

The successful candidate will be required to serve a probationary period of six months and final confirmation of the appointment is dependent upon the satisfactory completion of this probationary period.

The successful candidate will be required to be Security Cleared (SC).
