Chemist creates 30 jobs with store at out-of-town complex

More than 30 jobs have been created thanks to the opening of a new branch of Boots at an out-of-town shopping complex in Londonderry.

The new store has been opened in Crescent Link Retail Park in the Waterside area of the city.

The 700sqm health and beauty store will also provide a Boots Opticians as well as a pharmacy that provides over-the-counter medicines and expert healthcare advice from an on-site pharmacist.

The outlet will employ 31 people.

The store will also offer a large Christmas gift area, a chilled foods section, a baby clothing range, an extensive fragrance section and an electrical beauty area.

Mary Woods, regional manager for Boots UK, welcomed the opening.

“I’m delighted that our investment in the Crescent Link Retail Park has helped to create new jobs within the area,” she said.

“We are proud to be able to demonstrate our commitment to local communities.”

Store manager Julie Cushley added: “We are excited to be able to offer customers a wide range of health and beauty products and healthcare advice in an accessible and convenient location.”
