Brightwater begins its new mentoring service

19th June 2019

A team of senior business advisers, who provide expert mentorship services to a range of clients in various sectors is to become part of the Brightwater Group, the all-Ireland recruitment firm with a base in Belfast.

The new partnership with ‘Mentors’ will see Brightwater become the only all-Ireland recruitment firm that provides both recruitment and mentorship services using a Mentors’ team of former executives with years of experience in multinational companies such as Smurfit, Diageo, INM and Glanbia.

They can also act as coaches and senior advisers — as well as chairpersons and/or non-executive directors where required.

The services can be for the client organisation as a whole, or for specific individuals (or groups) within the organisation.

While clients to date have typically been SMEs and state sponsored bodies, the service is also highly relevant to early stage companies and multinationals, says Brightwater Group.

Managing director of the firm, Barbara McGrath, who will take on the additional role as chair of Mentors, said: “The Mentors’ team boast deep industry knowledge across all major sectors and functional areas including strategy, finance, sales and marketing, compliance and operations/ technology.

“They can advise on how to overcome the major business challenges such as growth, governance, organisational optimisation, change management and operational efficiency — all with a view to increasing shareholder and enterprise value.

“Additionally, they provide executive coaching for individuals within organisations who, for example, are stepping up to a greater leadership role within their organisation.”

Ronan Harbison will take responsibility for the business as commercial director while the new Mentors’ Board will comprise Barbara McGrath (chair) and John Lacy.

Ms McGrath said: “We believe there are a lot of synergies between Mentors and the Brightwater Group. By bringing Mentors into the Group, we will be able to significantly increase the range of services and value we can deliver to our own diverse client base.”
