17th September 2013

The National Skills Academy, set up in spring 2011by SummitSkills, is the UK’s leading network of energy efficiency and environmental technologies training.

The Skills Academy has been busy preparing new services and has recently unveiled these new options to help installers and apprentices up-skill:
 * Handy pocket guides to a range of technologies are now available for renewable and low carbon installers. The guides are packed full of useful information for pricing, sizing and installing – including building regulations, best practice, commissioning checks and health and safety requirements.
* A new range of bespoke e-learning resources offer learners the chance to progress at their own pace and progress at a later date if they want to gain a full qualification.
* ‘Future proof your career’ is free of charge and is aimed at experienced building services engineers and an ‘Introduction to Environmental Technology Systems’ is accessible to anyone with an interest in renewables. These new resources are easily accessible at www.nsa-elearning.org.uk
* A range of learner manuals for installers is also available to support those already training, installers interested in developing their skills or, for those who have completed their training, as a reference document. Extra sections are also available to supplement these standard manuals.
