New jobs announcement adds a further boost to Northern Ireland tech sector

2nd March 2015

A software company has created 25 new jobs as part of its expansion.

Fieldmotion has added the new posts across its sales, marketing and operations departments.

The Newry company — which specialises in mobile workflow management software — is fast expanding into a market leader in Northern Ireland. It has grown from just five staff to 30 in the space of two years.

The company’s managing director Jerome Finnegan said: “Fieldmotion software allows employees who work away from the office to record data and send it safely back to base in real time straight from their smartphone.

“This includes everything from signatures and photos to reports and documentation, effectively allowing companies to create completely paperless offices which is not only good for the environment, but is proven to save money.

“The software has been operational for two years, but it is only in 2014/15 that we have really sensed a lift in the market to enable us to rapidly expand the reach of the product and take on the additional staff.”

And as a result of the expansion Mr Finnegan said he was hoping for further growth this year through business across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

The announcement by Fieldmotion is the latest boost to the burgeoning tech sector in Northern Ireland.

Yesterday, Kainos Software revealed the creation of 400 new jobs, based right across the firm’s Belfast and Londonderry operations.

The company, which helps the healthcare industry and government digitise their work, has received £4.7m from Invest NI.
