Hospitality Students Host Networking Event

8th December 2014

Students working towards careers in Northern Ireland’s £860m hospitality sector have organised a key networking conference at the Ulster University Business School.

The event was organised by second year students from the BSc (Hons) international hospitality management course who are studying a module on corporate events. It was sponsored by the students’ Hospitality Events and Tourism Society (HEAT Society), based at the city centre campus.

Speakers included Deirdre McCanny from Co Couture Gourmet Chocolates, a past graduate and also an entrepreneur. There was also a presentation from Emma Leahy from the new digital event registration and ticketing solutions company Get Invited.

Hoteliers Jamie McCormack, general manager of Hotel du Vin in Glasgow, and Kevin Smyth, general manager of the Belfast Boutique Hotel 10 Square, both graduates in hospitality from Ulster Business School, were also there to share their experiences in the industry.
