BAKERY chain Greggs has confirmed plans to open its first directly run shop in Northern Ireland, creating 12 new jobs.
The move comes following the success of the first franchised shop at Applegreen’s Motorway Service Area on the M2.
It is expected that the new unit at the Boucher Road Retail Park will be available for shop-fitting in early March 2016, with the store being opened a few weeks later.
Martin Kibler of Greggs said: “This is an exciting ‘trial’ step for us as we open a directly-operated shop in Northern Ireland.
We are delighted to acquire a unit in a very successful retail centre and look forward to welcoming customers in March.”
