Expanding care services agency to create 50 new jobs

16th May 2016

PENINSULA Care Services is celebrating seven years in business with the creation of 50 new jobs.

These new positions will bring the total employment figure at the private domiciliary care and nursing recruitment services agency to 250 people. Established in 2009, Peninsula now boasts a head office and training academy in Newtownards, as well as a satellite branch in Belfast.

Managing director, Jonny Cook said: “Unlike some other industries where we see sad news of job losses, health and social care is definitely a growing industry. There’s a constant need for nursing and care staff in care facilities and people often want to work through a recruitment company as opposed to directly with a care home, as there’s more f lexibility in working hours.

“At Peninsula we try to accommodate our staff as best we can, so they can have a healthy work/life balance. Also, in the run up to the summer holidays many people are thinking about earning extra income and Peninsula is becoming an increasingly attractive option as a ‘second’ job.”

He added: “Whilst there are various permanent job vacancies for highly qualified care workers and nurses, there are also opportunities in Peninsula for those wanting to embark on a new career. We have an in-house training department available for staff to attain a QCF in Health & Social Care to maintain our exceptionally high calibre of employed staff.”

A recruitment day is taking place at Peninsula on Thursday, May 26 from 10am – 7pm at the businesses headquarters 3 Church Street, Newtownards.
