Skills Northern Ireland, an interactive and innovative two-day careers, jobs, skills and apprenticeship event for 14-19 year old students, parents and teachers, is a great way to help students make their future job and career choices during a somewhat daunting period of their lives.

So, what do visitors stand to gain from their time at Skills NI?

1) Fantastic advice from industry leaders

This is the perfect opportunity to get an insight into the reality of the working world with the chance to meet future employers, colleges and universities, career advisors and training providers. With nearly 80 organisations on board to offer hands-on advice, this is the ideal time to gain in-depth knowledge about a variety of industries. Why not visit the Careers Zone for some one-to-one guidance from the experts themselves?

2) Access to a range of interesting and ambitious pathways

With such a vast range of sectors taking part in the event, there really is something for everyone. The exhibition aims to highlight the endless options and possibilities for students and they may even come away with career ideas they hadn’t considered before. Potential routes include training courses, apprenticeships, further and higher education, as well as jobs with study options.

3) Opportunity to embrace your skills

By participating at the Get Skilled stands, students can discover new skills and talents – a fantastic way to learn something new and try out some valuable work-based skills, including construction Why not go along to the popular Skills Showcase where you will find products created by young people as part of their job or training.

Be one step ahead of your competitors – check out the vacant roles posted on the Live Opportunities Board and get an insight into jobs, volunteering opportunities, traineeships and apprenticeships. Exhibitors will post live opportunities for visitors to view, so it is the perfect time to find out more during your trip.
