AT A recent breakfast event the Department for Employment and Learning Permanent Secretary, Derek Baker outlined the importance of employers working alongside the further education colleges to design and develop high quality and economically relevant curriculum and qualifications.
The aim of the event in the e3 campus of Belfast Metropolitan College was to promote the consultation on a new further education strategy for Northern Ireland.
Addressing the attendees Mr Baker said: “The consultation sets out a range of policy commitments that will establish a world class system of further education in Northern Ireland. “I encourage all stakeholders to engage with my Department during the consultation period as their responses will be crucial.”
