Export Technologies Expanding its Workforce

23rd July 2014

E-COMMERCE consultancy Export Technologies, which has transacted £1bn worth of online sales for Northern Ireland customers, has grown its workforce thanks to a hat-trick of new customers.

The Belfast-based company has recruited developers, de-signers and project managers as part of a Elm plus investment in staff and development in its award winning technology, the International Retail Platform (IRP).

The new customers include Huge Rugby, which is based in Ballymena, and designer men’s clothing brand, Grosvenor Shirts, which has a head office in Strabane, as well as a flagship retail store on London’s prestigious Jermyn Street.

Les Curran from Export Technologies said: “We had a strong workforce of more than 13 staff, but needed to recruit additional members of the team to manage the new clients generated through our recent investment. Having the right online plat-form can directly impact on sales, and the new staff will help customers manage their online retail presence through effective use of the IRP.”

Developed by Export ‘Technologies, IRP is available to distributors, manufacturers and retailers that have the potential to sell internationally online.

It combines traffic generation with conversion, by handling languages, currencies and localised markets in a systematic way.

It’s aided sales across 170 countries in eight languages.

Huge Rugby director Jonny Small said: “Our parent brand Sport N Style has been trading successfully in Ballymena for the last 30 years, but as customer retail habits moved more online, we realised a multi-channel approach was needed to grow the business. Although we sell all types of sports equipment, rugby was a key strength, so we decided to launch www.hugerugby.com to focus on this niche area. We quickly saw the potential for online growth, and the IRP has been the catalyst to help us secure customers in South Africa, Japan and Canada — something which would not have been possible before.”
