‘SOFT skills’ are the personal qualities and attributes that make you unique and can help you stand out from the competition. Know what yours are, so that when it comes to the interview process you can show how your life experiences and personality make you the perfect candidate for the role. Key skills employers look for include:

COMMUNICATION
The ultimate soft skill. Your success at interview depends on your ability to communicate. Show that you can connect and get your point across and you’re also showing the employer that you will be able to get along with colleagues and clients.

COMMITMENT
 Employers want people who are dependable and reliable.

MOTIVATION
Show you have passion for the job, that you can work under pressure and that you’re prepared to go above and beyond as the role requires.

RESPONSIBILITY
Employers want people who take pride in their work and have a connection with what they are doing.

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS AND CREATIVITY
Can you apply both logic and creativity to solve problems? If so, provide examples of a time when you have used these skills, and explain what the outcome was. If you are the kind of person who tries to see the solution, as well as the problem, this will stand you in good stead.
