Junior Project Manager / Project Co-Ordinator

Role description

My client is a real indigenous success story, exporting globally with an exceptional reputation for quality. Working within the internal & client facing Programme Office, this is a new role supporting the full portfolio of client deliveries within the organisation. This is an opportunity to join a more mature Programme Office, very much a varied role supporting the Programme Team (c10), assisting with reporting and carrying out a number of smaller client specific project as necessary.

Working as part of a very busy commercial business that has experienced unprecedented growth over the last 3 years. This means that there will be growth and career development opportunity for the successful candidate as this function grows & develops over the next 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Project Management team with the recording & reporting within the Programme Office.

• Embedding procedures within major projects, ensuring internal adoption of formalised management models & reporting. This will include developing new functionality within the overall Programme reporting function

• Supporting progress reporting, risk / issue / action / dependency management and financial controls in relation to the programme, project or initiative

• Project related administration and ad-hoc activities to support the wider team, potentially with the ability to manage small client facing projects.

To qualify you must possess:

• Genuine interest in managing and delivering projects, with an emphasis on improving the systems that are already in place – this can either be someone who has experience of Project Co-Ordination or someone with excellent organisation skills who has a genuine passion to follow a career within Project Management

• Awareness of formal project management methodologies (example PRINCE 2) highly beneficial, including knowledge of structured of project management techniques, e.g. planning, risk management, financial management, resource management & consolidated Programme reporting

• Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills

• Good team player and can also work well using initiative

• Drive and motivation to develop yourself and your career

• The successful candidate must have strong Excel skills and a strong knowledge of MS Project would be highly beneficial.
