About the job

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides the technical leadership to the organization
• Develops and maintains an effective test architecture that meets the organizational need
• Is the foremost Technical Authority and is responsible for the overall quality of deliverables across all parameters, both functional and non-functional including performance, usability, etc
• Is expected to pro-actively analyse current processes and practices and suggest/ drive improvements. Also, defines processes as needed
• Has wide-reaching scope, impact and influence extending beyond the confines of SST QA and spans across the entire organization
• Is the counter part to the development architect
• Collaborates effectively and on an on-going basis with all stakeholders involved in development and release activity including developers, vendors, technical publications, program management to ensure execution and deliverables per plan
• Is responsible for design and development of SST’s Test Automation framework / harness and any tools required. Where Citi approved tools do not fully meet requirements the TA writes code / develops components/ engages with vendors to ensure access to the right tools. They may even design and develop tools as needed
• Helps incorporate Testable requirements into design
• Analyses competitive products and technologies and makes appropriate suggestions (using demos, Proofs of Concept) to influence product / technology direction
• Is results oriented and has a high degree of accountability, commitment and responsibility. The expectation is that involving a TA in a project is a guarantee of obtaining positive outcomes for SST QA


• Extensive Technical skills covering Product, Technologies and Competitive knowledge. Sound knowledge of domain / areas being handled is essential. As this role will operate across SST it is not sufficient to be a specialist in any one area or technology. The candidate will require a wide and deep understanding of the range of technologies and tools available in the marketplace
• Knowledge of current industry wide Quality and Test processes and practices, Tools and techniques
• Ability to work with and influence teams. Driving QA teams within SST to perform at their optimal level. The “ability to influence” despite not having direct reporting relationships is key. In this position, a high EQ is as much a necessity as a high IQ. The ability to collaborate and co-operate is important
• Patience and humility when mentoring or guiding members of teams; the ability to articulate in ways that are understood by the listener at their level is a requirement while also possessing good listening skills. A desire to continuously learn and to undertake a program of learning to constantly update skills and keep abreast of current thinking and developments in testing is vital
• Software Analysis and Design knowledge/experience is needed while also having a solid background in Software Quality and Testing. Must have hands-on experience having performed both functional and non-functional testing. Must have driven significant automation within a business. Must be able to review requirements, design and even code as needed

Extensive knowledge of current industry wide quality and test processes and practices, tools and techniques
Previous experience of designing and maintaining test architecture in either Prime, Funds, Futures, Custody or Equities
An expert in automation testing and automation frameworks
The ability to drive change and continuous learning into the Testing Organization
The ability to influence and collaborate across teams and different lines of business
