On behalf of our client a leading manufacturing company we are currently recruiting a Occupational Health Nurse

This position will be responsible for maintaining the Occupational Health Facility and the services it provides to the on-site employees:

* Taking accountability for absense management and actively taking steps to reduce this figure

* Carry out consultations with employees

* Create rehabilitation plans for employees and working closely with managers to ensure the timely return of absent employees

* Referring employees to the OH Physicians where further advice/opinions are sought

* Managing regular absence meetings with people services and various other managers

* Ensuring that health surveillance is carried out in line with current legislative requirements and that recommendations are made to improve current process

* Carrying out pre employment assessments in line with the requirements of the role

* Carrying out substance abuse testing

* Taking accountability for creating and maintaining a suite of health policies in conjunction with the health and safety manager

* Providing suitable advice and information for the health and well being of our employees

* Treating employees for injury and illness and giving sound medical advice, including recommendations for travel and associated vaccinations

* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with the professional body standards and data protection

Essential Criteria:

* Registered General Nurse, preferably with previous experience in administering an occupational health service in a manufacturing environment

* PC literate

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
