Nursing Home Manager – Newry & Mourne Area

Salary circa £35-£45k   

Working on behalf of our Client, Lucas Love is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Manager for one of their Nursing Homes in the Newry & Mourne area. Working for a well established Private Healthcare provider, this role offers candidates a fantastic opportunity to either progress their career or embark on an exciting new challenge.

Job Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to manage and oversee the home ensuring excellent care for your residents by ensuring care standards are exceeded; you will have full responsibility for your staff giving guidance, direction and clear leadership whilst supporting the ethos of the organization.

Essential Skills and Experience

1. A  Registered General Nurse (RGN) on the live NMC Register
2. Previous managerial experience as a Nurse Manager or Deputy Manager ready to progress
3. Strong Leadership skills  and ability to lead and motivate staff
4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
5. Strong clinical knowledge and excellent understanding of care of the elderly including Dementia
6. Demonstrable knowledge of Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) and Nursing Standards

The Role

• Day to day management of the Home ensuring highest level of care is delivered at all times
• Ultimate responsibility of staff management and supervision, including  recruitment, selection, training, monitoring of performance, handling disciplinary meetings and grievances, management of staff rotas, staff meetings
• Management of all communication with outside organizations and general marketing of home
• Complaint and  commendation handling  with accurate completion of appropriate reports
• Full responsibility for implementation and management of policies and procedures
• Medication Management
• Budget management
